There have been around 30 PUBLIC MEETINGS ON CLIMATE CHANGE around the
country (see www.campaigncc.org/local.shtml).
There are around 30 COACHES PLANNED FOR THE DAY (see
http://forum.campaigncc.org/?q=coachesDec3).
And demonstrations or events are planned for around 30 COUNTRIES around the
world on December 3rd (see www.globalclimatecampaign.org). This includes a
minimum of 15,000 people in Montreal, a protest in Iquitos in the Amazon
Rainforest, a Global Warming Party in New Orleans USA, a 'Climate Walk' in 7

However big this demo will be it still needs to be bigger - PLEASE SPREAD
THE WORD TO WHOEVER YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, PASS AROUND THIS EMAIL, DISTRIBUTE
SOME LEAFLETS, HELP BUILD THIS DEMO IN ANY WAY YOU CAN THINK OF ...
AND BE THERE - its going to be a fantastic day!
Plus if you like you could also help by coming to the CCC London Branch
meeting - the last before the demo - this Monday (28th) 7 pm at the Campaign
Office near Old Street tube (at Development House, 56-64 Leonard street,
EC2. From Old Street tube take exit 4 and go straight on, South down City
Road, till the first left into Leonard street. Development House is the
first building on the right after you cross Tabernacle Street. Ring the
buzzer for 'Campaign against Climate Change' or ring mobile number
07903316331)
And/or, if you fancy, you can both help us pile the pressure on Tony Blair
and make your MP aware of the December 3rd demo by writing to them (if you
haven't done this already via the Stop Climate Chaos website) - and asking
them to back up the letter we will present to Tony Blair at 10 Downing
Street on December 3rd.
If Tony Blair sells out on binding targets he almost certainly will not have
the support of most MPs and we should make sure he is reminded of this ...
HERE IS A SUGGESTED LETTER - but you could amend it as you like, include
other climate-change related requests like joining Friends of the Earth's
'Big Ask' Campaign etc ...

Dear ***** MP,
Re: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLIMATE PROTEST - December 3rd 2005
I am a member of Campaign against Climate Change, which is leading a London
March on December 3rd, as part of International Day of Climate Protest
(midway through the way through the UN "MOP" Climate Talks in Montreal.),
which will see demonstrations in 28 countries. These demonstrations demand
that the USA and Australia ratify the Kyoto Protocol immediately, and that
the entire world community move as rapidly as possible to a stronger
emissions reductions treaty that will be both equitable and effective in
stabilising 'greenhouse' gases and preventing dangerous climate change.
We are therefore deeply concerned by Tony Blair's recent remarks
backtracking on his commitment to the Kyoto. Please will you ask the
Government to publicly restate its support to legally binding targets as the
way to stabilize greenhouse gases and prevent dangerous climate change?
The London March will deliver a petition to 10 Downing Street, calling on
Tony Blair to restate his support for legally binding targets. Other cities
with coincident demonstrations include Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Athens,
Lisbon, Istanbul, Moscow, Montreal, New York, Seoul, Manila, Sydney and
Melbourne. For more information see www.globalclimatecampaign.org.
Yours sincerely,
